Sculpture Placement

Another sculpture, which was not initially in use, was mounted to a concrete footer that was poured on site and placed near two small windows that were original to the property.

Sculpture

This modern home was deserving of a minimalist approach to the landscaping and architectural features. The front yard was designed around several pieces of art which the homeowners purchased.

An intimate courtyard was designed to house a large scale sculpture and to provide privacy from passersby. The walls were constructed using custom-built steel frames and specified glass panels. The planting inside the courtyard was minimal so that the focus inside the courtyard would be on the sculpture itself.

Courtyard

Numerous steel planter boxes were designed to frame the driveway and front yard gardens. In order to enhance the area adjacent to the front door, we selected three concrete planters and planted them with 'Blue Atlas' weeping cedar trees. The side yard, which was to be developed as well, is framed by floor to ceiling windows on two sides and a focal point from inside the home. Because this area of the garden is west-facing, the homeowner considered planting trees, however, due to the confined space, we all liked the idea of using large steel containers to house trees, herbs and plantings with gravel paths on all sides.
